#Old school bubble gum strain series
This week, we’ll be rolling out a series of superb new strains exclusively at Capital City Care. Fortunately, that is exactly what they did. Bringing exciting new strains onto the menu in time for Spring means our cultivation team had to start planning many months ago. Planning for a big week like this, however, is no easy task. This year is no exception and we can’t wait to see who wins the $420 top prize in this year’s sweepstakes. I believe these old-school throwback strains are either head stash or very limited release.Patients who’ve been visiting us for a while know we always do our best to make the week of April 20th extra special. Where can you find Northern Lights Haze by Mount Burnin? It is so cool to see these historic strains being resurrected and such a trip down memory lane to try them. I was lucky enough to have this gifted, but I would buy it all day. So was Northern Lights Haze worth the money, and would I repurchase it? The old school strains packed a significant punch, such as this strain with a hefty body and cerebral head high that will wreck your ass. You might look at these flowers and say that they don’t look too potent however, today’s popular strains have a much more refined clean high. I am really enjoying the great flavor on the inhale and the interesting thinner smoke on the exhale. It is very impressive how true to form this flower is to the original I smoked eighteen years ago.
The smoking experience is exactly as I remembered it. In contrast, the exhale evolves again into thin herbal notes complemented by delicate linger wood notes. The inhale of these flowers bursts with blueberry notes that evolve in a complex sweet fruit punch profile. I have often seen Haze add both blueberry and bubble gum characteristics back in the day.
I would describe the nose as a mix of sweet fruity herbal notes leaning in the direction of fresh blueberries. The scent immediately takes me back to the original strains before exotics. A light brushing of trichome crystals offers the flowers a whitish tone. The well-manicured flowers are light green with long stringy orange hairs giving the colas a defining Sativa look. This bag is the flowers of that time smoking the strain was like jumping into a time machine. If you go back far enough on this blog, you can find me describing Oaksterdam and the early days of 215. This Sativa dominant hybrid is the cross of Northern Lights and Silver Haze. This strain, I believe to be one of the original cuts.
